2025 Crime Prevention Wardens Gauteng

In a significant development for law enforcement in Gauteng, Premier Panyaza Lesufi has welcomed the announcement that the Crime Prevention Wardens, also known as AmaPanyaza, have been granted the status of Peace Officers. They are also actively seeking more candidates to join this initiative.

The Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Ronald Lamola, has officially designated the Crime Prevention Wardens as Peace Officers by Section 334 of the Criminal Procedures Act, 1977, in South Africa.

Overview

We are looking for a highly organized and professional event host or public relations officer to assist with the upcoming welcoming event. Premier Panyaza Lesufi will introduce and address the newly appointed Crime Prevention Wardens at this event, which aims to enhance security throughout Gauteng and reinforce the province’s commitment to community safety.

Duties Responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact and coordinator for all event-related activities, including liaising with Premier Lesufi’s team and the Crime Prevention Wardens. Help in managing and overseeing the logistics of the welcoming event (location, setup, and attendee coordination).Draft and disseminate press releases, media alerts, and invitations to local media outlets and Work closely with security personnel to ensure that all safety protocols are adhered to during the event.
• Act as an emcee or facilitator during the event, introducing key speakers and maintaining the flow of activities Coordinate post-event coverage, including media interactions, interviews, and press conferences if needed.

The minimum Qualifications

Proven experience in public relations, event coordination, or a related field, and Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment; familiarity with high-level government protocols and procedures is an advantage; and experience in dealing with media outlets and press engagements.

The Minimum requirements

• Availability to work flexible hours leading up to and during the event and Must be able to work onsite in Gauteng and meet the prescribed minimum physical requirements set by SAPS and Have no criminal record or pending criminal cases.
• Meet the required visual acuity standards without corrective lenses and must be prepared to undergo a medical examination, psychological evaluation, and security vetting and must be prepared to relocate anywhere in South Africa.

1. Have permanent residency in the Republic of South Africa (RSA) and provide documentary proof.

2. Be at least 18 years old but younger than 30 years old, for which documentary proof is also required.

Undergo a physical and medical examination as determined by the SAPS, and must be found to be physically and mentally fit to be appointed in the post for which he/she applies and undergo a psychological assessment as determined by the National Commissioner of the SAPS, and must be found to fit the profile of a police official who has a Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification, of which he/she must present documentary proof.

Should be fluent in English and at least one other official language, be prepared to take the oath of office, and be prepared to undergo any training as determined by the National Commissioner of the SAPS. Not have any visible tattoos that are contrary to the objectives of the SAPS and not have previous criminal convictions. Let his/her fingerprints be taken and he/she must be prepared to have his/her background checked and be prepared to serve anywhere in South Africa.
