Introduction
A vacancy exists for an Enrolled Nurse (Day and/or Night shift) based in – Cardiothoracic ICU at Life Anncron Hospital, reporting to Tina de Wit, Unit Manager. The purpose of this role is to conduct nursing activities to ensure quality patient care.
Critical Outputs
Assure competent quality management systems by Attending and participating in Q programs and assuring induction training is carried out. Assuring monthly Q evaluator cards are completed and report to the shift leader or unit manager and Attending and participating in review and ward meetings in order to assure conformance to QMS audit standards. Performing, understanding, and complying with the company infection control standards in order to adhere to PPE standards and procedures.
Adhering to safety measures, Assure optimum operational efficiencies by Assuring correct and accurate stock administration. Reporting patient movements on discharge or transfer and Assuring the right and the proper usage and maintenance of equipment. Assuring personal absenteeism is minimized and justified as well as Working flexible hours in order to minimize agency costs and show a willingness to assist other departments. Assure effective quality patient care by Performing and completing tasks assigned in order to maximize patient care and Assuring patient hygiene, comfort and safety are measured in accordance with the nursing care plan.
Following the right techniques and wearing PPE’s in order to support the healing of wounds and fractures. Monitoring and recording patient intake of fluids. Assuring the management and preparation of surgical and diagnostic procedures. Effective relationship management with clients by building and maintaining healthy relationships with internal and external clients and supporting all new staff members with the orientation program
Requirements
- Qualification as an Enrolled Nurse and Registration with SANC
- Must be able to work shifts according to the operational requirements of the hospital
- Understanding the private healthcare industry, its challenges, and role players would be an advantage
- Computer proficiency would be an advantage
