Porter
Introduction
Two vacancies exist for a porter, based at Life Groenkloof Hospital, reporting to the admission supervisor. The successful candidates will be part of a professional team that is continuously striving for the highest standards of quality in healthcare.
Critical Outputs
Be friendly to all customers. Transport patients from reception to wards and vice versa. Transport patients from wards to doctors’ rooms and smoking areas as required, and ensure a nurse accompanies them as needed depending on diagnoses. Check wheelchairs for cleanliness and whether they are in need of repairs (maintain good working condition). Assist with ad hoc duties as required by the reception supervisor during busier periods. Deliver correspondence to doctors’ rooms as and when required.
Requirements
Grade 12 Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays in accordance with the requirements of the hospital Understanding of the private healthcare industry, its challenges, and its role players would be an advantage. Good interpersonal skills, the ability to deal with people, and being in the frontline. Previous experience in a similar environment. Ability to communicate effectively. Experience in working in customer service/dealing with customers

Laundry Assistant/Cleaners
Introduction
A vacancy exists for a laundry assistant based at Life Anncron Hospital, reporting to the laundry supervisor. The successful candidate will be responsible for management, collection, handling, washing and distribution of linen.
Critical Outputs
Collection of linen from the units; washing, ironing, and folding of linen; distribution of linen to all units in the facility Control the linen levels in units according to requirements; control the quality of the linen distributed and received; accuracy in daily weighing of the linen that needs to be washed; neatness and cleanliness of the linen storeroom required; keeping accurate records of totals of linen collected and distributed in units; removing, washing, and hanging of all curtains in the wards
Requirements
Grade 12 Certificate. Experience in healthcare laundry services would be an advantage. Knowledge of infection control, health and safety procedures, and disaster management. Excellent communication and problem-solving. Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Eager to learn new systems and accept challenges Team player and be very energetic. The person must be customer focused. Good relationship skills are necessary. Able to work day shift, night shift, weekends, and public holidays. Friendly and helpful
