Role Summary:
The Handyman is responsible for performing basic maintenance of grounds, equipment, and other small jobs that may be required from time to time. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, values precision, and enjoys a hands-on role in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and facilities to ensure optimal functionality and Carry out basic repairs involving carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, and general fixtures.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools safely and effectively and Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce the likelihood of unexpected breakdowns.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant safety standards and the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act and maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop area.
- Help with setting up and dismantling equipment for events and other activities as needed, and support the broader maintenance team in responding to emergency repair requests.
- Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.
- Contribute to maintaining a positive, professional work environment that reflects the values of Netcare.
Inherent Requirements:
- Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in a maintenance or handyman role.
- Basic skills with general tools and power tools and basic hand skills.
- Familiarity with safe workshop practices.
- Basic understanding of domestic electrical systems, plumbing, and carpentry and basic understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act.

- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and a commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.

Role Summary
Netcare Education Gauteng South West Campus seeks a dedicated and skilled Campus-Based Academic Staff Member to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for educating and facilitating the theoretical and clinical training of basic nursing students. This role is ideal for someone passionate about nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals, with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality theoretical and clinical instruction to nursing students and develop, implement, and assess curriculum that aligns with national and institutional standards.
- Provide academic support and mentorship to students to promote their growth and development, and conduct assessments and evaluations to monitor student progress and competency.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest teaching methodologies and healthcare practices and collaborate with colleagues to ensure a positive and innovative learning environment.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and ongoing training.
- Maintain accurate student records and prepare required documentation and Use technology and multimedia tools effectively to enhance the learning experience.
- Contribute to research activities and academic publications as required.
Inherent Requirements
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council as a registered/professional nurse and Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or a Degree in Education.
- Registered with the South African Nursing Council as an Assessor and Moderator.
- Primary Healthcare qualification (advantageous).
- Master’s Degree or currently pursuing a Master’s Degree (advantageous).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience within the education field.
- Research competence and academic writing skills.
Knowledge and Skills
- Own transport and valid driver’s license.
- Computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Portfolio of evidence demonstrating a variety of teaching and facilitation methods, including the use of technology in the classroom.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
