Physical Fitness Preparation Program

Prepare for the SAPS Physical Fitness Assessments with this 11-day exercise program. Stay committed, and you’ll be ready to excel!

 

Day 1:

 

  • Run 100m (3/4 pace, not a full sprint)
  • Rest for 3 minutes
  • Repeat 4x with 3 minutes of rest in between each set

Day 2:

  • Jog 150m at a slow pace, then walk 50m at a normal pace
  • Repeat 3 times (no rest in between)
  • Perform as many push-ups and sit-ups as possible (rest 5 minutes in between)

Day 3:

  • Run 2.4km at a comfortable pace
  • Stretch to reduce muscle soreness

Day 4:

  • Run 120m at a brisk pace
  • Rest for 2 minutes
  • Repeat 5x
  • Perform as many push-ups and sit-ups as possible (rest 5 minutes in between)

Day 5:

  • Jog 200m at a slow pace, then walk 50m at a normal pace
  • Repeat 3x without rest
  • Perform 15 repetitions x 3 of abdominal exercises

Day 6:

  • Walk at a fast pace for 10 minutes – active rest day
  • Perform different stretching exercises

Day 7:

  • Run 200m at a brisk pace
  • Rest for 1 minute
  • Repeat 3x
  • Perform as many push-ups and sit-ups as possible (rest 5 minutes in between)

Day 8:

  • Jog 200m at a slow pace, then walk 50m fast
  • Repeat 3x without rest
  • Perform as many push-ups and sit-ups as possible (rest 5 minutes in between)

Day 9:

  • Run 2.5km at a comfortable pace
  • Perform different stretching exercises

Day 10:

  • Test yourself with 20m runs between point A and B
  • Run as many laps as possible without stopping
  • Perform as many push-ups and sit-ups as possible (rest 5 minutes in between)

Day 11:

  • Repeat Days 7 – 10 until two days before your SAPS Physical Fitness Assessments

Important Notice: Always warm up before exercising by jogging for 5-10 minutes or fast walking for 10-15 minutes. Stay hydrated and use comfortable exercise attire.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Food Service Supervisor at the SAPS Academy in Philippi, you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing and assisting in the preparation and serving of refreshments and managing food service support functions.
