About the Learnership
This learnership has been developed to equip unemployed individuals with both theoretical and practical knowledge required in a modern manufacturing environment. Learners will participate in structured classroom learning together with workplace-based practical training.
The programme focuses on developing technical competence, workplace readiness, safety awareness, teamwork, and production skills that are highly valued across the manufacturing industry.
By combining accredited learning with real workplace experience, learners will gain confidence while developing the skills necessary to operate safely and efficiently within industrial environments.
Training Areas
Successful learners will receive training in the following areas:
- Working effectively within a production team and Workplace safety and health procedures and Safe use of hand tools and Assembly and manufacturing processes
- Engineering drawings and interpretation
- Marking-off techniques and Welding fundamentals
- Operating and monitoring production machinery and Surface preparation techniques
- Basic fire-fighting procedures, Production operations and Dispatch and handling of manufactured products
These training modules are designed to prepare learners for the day-to-day responsibilities required in manufacturing and maintenance environments.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet one of the following qualification requirements:
- National Technical Certificate (N3 – N6)
OR
Technical Matric/Matric with the following relevant subjects:
- Mathematics
- Physical Science or Engineering Science
- Electrical Trade Theory
- Mechanical Trade Theory
- Motor Trade Theory
- Mechanical Drawing
- Graphical Design
