Minimum Requirements – South African Citizen,

• 21 – 30 years of age,
• PASSED Matric/Grade 12 Certificate (not statements allowed),
• Any post-Grade 12 qualification will be an added advantage,
• No criminal record, 
• Fluent in English,
• Full commitment to the 12-month learnership until completion.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Willingness to be trained in operating a heavy vehicle,
• Practical driving and theoretical training,
• Punctual class attendance

Despatch Clerk

Job Advert Summary

An opportunity has arisen for a Despatch Clerk to assist with the scheduling of vehicles using a computerized program to ensure constant cane supply to the mill and to improve vehicle efficiencies to reduce cost.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric with a related qualification would be preferable or studying towards
• Computer Literate (MS Office proficiency in Word and Excel)
• Minimum 2 years of Practical experience in transport ops
• Good understanding of sugar manufacturing
• Knowledge of vehicle dispatch
• Basic understanding of accounting principles
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Analytical Skills, Meticulous & Attention to detail
• Excellent problem-solving abilities 
• Able to work under pressure
• Reliable and Dependable

Duties & Responsibilities

• Updating and maintaining the schedule system
• Gathering information on available cut cane stock, cane transport trucks and loaders to the different cane loading zone
• Data capturing on the scheduling system, including available cut cane, trucks, and loaders, truck ETA updates and breakdown 
• Instruct truck drivers to the next consignment of cane Optimize vehicle efficiencies by sending vehicles to the right loading zone taking into consideration shift changes and ETA’S of other vehicles
• Communicate effectively between the mill control room,cane operations and supervisors
• Promote internal customer service and relations.
• Receive instructions and guidelines from the immediate supervisor and execute accordingly
