About the Role
What You’ll Be Doing
Parcel Handling & Distribution
- Make sure the correct destination number is written on tracking stickers and all national parcels are placed correctly by the SWAD machine.
- Record correct weight and dimensions for parcels that cannot fit on the swad machine and distribute local parcels accurately and efficiently.
- make sure all scanning procedures are followed correctly and parcels are handled carefully and securely throughout transportation and delivery.
Vehicle Operations & Compliance
- Make sure the truck is packed in a neat, safe, and orderly manner and complete prescribed vehicle check sheets accurately before and after driving the vehicle.
- Make sure compliance with all traffic regulations and road safety requirements and the driver’s license and PDP remain valid and up-to-date.
- Immediately report vehicle defects, accidents, or operational issues to management and maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of the vehicle at all times.
Operational Compliance
- Comply with all TCG policies, procedures, and operational standards and Adhere to workplace rules applicable to drivers, porters, and operational employees.
- Ensure operational procedures are followed within required timelines and service standards and maintain accurate operational documentation and scanning records.
- Support operational efficiency through adherence to company processes and delivery schedules.
Customer Service and Communication
- Interact professionally and respectfully with customers and internal stakeholders and represent The Courier Guy positively during collections and deliveries.
- Communicate operational issues, delays, or customer concerns timeously and support a customer-focused culture through reliable and professional service delivery.
Health, Safety & Risk Management
- Follow all health and safety procedures while operating vehicles and handling freight and make sure safe loading, unloading, and transportation of parcels.
- Identify and report operational or safety risks proactively and maintain awareness of road safety and operational compliance requirements.
What You’ll Bring
- National Senior Certificate (Grade 8-12) or equivalent
- Valid C1/C Driver’s Licence with valid PDP
- Professional driving experience advantageous
WAREHOUSE ASSISTANCE x99
What You’ll Be Doing
Execute Warehouse Operations
- Make sure all parcels are scanned, sorted, and processed accurately in line with operational procedures and Apply correct destination details and ensure tracking stickers are completed accurately.
- Operate equipment such as SWAD machines where required and capture parcel data correctly and record weights and dimensions for parcels that cannot be processed through automated systems.
- Verify inbound freight against manifests and ensure completeness and prepare outbound freight accurately for linehaul dispatch.
- Cleanliness is key; staff should have high standard of cleanliness at all times—ensure the warehouse, both inside and outside areas is kept clean, neat, and organised.
- Report all issues, incidents, or concerns directly to your designated supervisor as the first point of contact.
Sort and Distribute Freight
- Sort parcels accurately to the correct destinations, routes, and areas and make sure all re-routed parcels are redirected to the appropriate locations.
- Confirm correct allocation of freight from the floor and conveyor systems and conduct floor checks and flag discrepancies for follow-up.
Maintain Quality and Compliance
- Follow all scanning, sorting, and operational procedures consistently and in compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational requirements.
- Maintain accuracy and minimize errors in parcel handling and processing and identify and report any discrepancies or irregularities in freight handling.
Support Customer Outcomes
- Understand how operational performance impacts customer experience and delivery timelines and maintain a customer-focused mindset in all tasks performed.
- Support basic query resolution where required through accurate information handling.
What You’ll Bring
- National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.
- Experience in a warehouse, logistics, or courier environment is advantageous, and Basic operational or parcel handling experience is preferred.
- Understanding of warehouse processes and logistics workflows.
- Basic computer literacy and strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Distribute local parcels accurately and efficiently and make sure all scanning procedures are followed correctly.
- Ensure parcels are handled carefully and securely throughout transportation and delivery.
Vehicle & Equipment Support
- Ensure vehicles are packed in a neat, safe, and orderly manner and vehicles remain clean and operationally ready.
- Immediately report mechanical issues and road incidents to management and make sure scanners are signed for, kept safe, accounted for, and maintained in working order.
- Report faulty scanners or operational equipment to management immediately and make sure vehicle cameras remain unobstructed at all times and Direct drivers safely while reversing vehicles.
Operational Compliance
- Adhere to TCG procedures, operational timelines, targets, and objectives.
- Follow all operational scanning and parcel handling procedures accurately and makse sure safety measures are followed at all times, including wearing seatbelts.
- Maintain operational discipline while on route and during depot activities.
- Ensure calls are answered professionally and timeously where required.
Health, Safety & Risk Management
- Follow all health and safety procedures during loading, transportation, and parcel handling and Promote safe working practices within the operational environment.
- Identify and report operational or safety risks proactively.
- Support safe vehicle movement and operational activities at all times.
Continuous Learning & Improvement
- Stay updated on all changes and procedures within TCG that may impact operations or customers and maintain operational and system knowledge through continuous learning and development.
- Support operational improvements and contribute ideas where appropriate and Adopt a proactive “can-do” attitude in supporting operational success.
What You’ll Bring
